i was really sad, and even more, when my friend's 1GB iPod shuffle dead !

it was really painful seen such a gadget become unuseful.

8 simple rules for developing secure source code

 03.11.2006-23:10 |    i-zapping, technology |    comment (2)

michael howard, a senior security program manager at Microsoft, wrote an article discussing how to develop secure source code by using the right analysis tools and experts and how to reduce risks using fuzzing and threat modeling; the article invite us to check the application's inputs and to learn the security concepts

the article talks about the habits that any developer must have in aim to get a final, secure and efficent product :

habit #1: taking responsibility
habit #2: never trust Data
habit #3: model threats against the code
habit #4: staing one step ahead
habit #5: fuzzing.
habit #6: do not write insecure code
habit #7: recognizing the strategic asymmetry
habit #8: use the best tools

the article is available in the MSDN magazine, here .

solving classic problems using SOA

 16.10.2006-13:18 |    blogging, i-zapping, technology |    comment (2)

a good post about how to solve puzzle architectural/integration/merge problems using soa technologies

[..]
How can you keep a large, redundant, entrenched, heterogeneous portfolio alive and responsive to the business, while building for the future?

_The go-forward application portfolio should be services-based, and product offerings should be assemblies (compositions) of services, business processes, events, and user interfaces, packaged by industry, and configurable by end customers.

_For incremental gains (refresh, new features, migration), services and data stores developed for the go-forward application should be injected into the existing applications.

_To facilitate interactions across domains and/or redundant systems, the existing applications should have access to a common integration mechanism.

_Since no one can afford to start from scratch, the existing applications can be mined for assets that serve as providers in the go-forward portfolio.

klipfolio i've just recieved my thanking gift from serence inc. as a recongnition for being a sponsor and a contributor in their rss feeder solution named klipfolio.

i've been using klipfolio since 3 years now, and it's a pretty light and powerfull tool for tracking feeds, rss or many others things by personnalizing the "klips" and by customizing them as you want.

i feel happy ...
whatever was the gift ... at least, my modest actions have some impacts here and there :)

gtalk.birthday

i've been using gtalk from a while now, and i appreciate it so much, it's too light, simple, and specially ergonomic.

today, while i was talking with a friend, i was surprised about the logo's change ... and it was really funny, the same simple googly way to show a special event !

bindows™

 18.07.2006-09:51 |    i-zapping, technology |    comment (1)
